River Vydra Landscape
The nature trail along the Vydra River between Antygl and Cenek's sawmill is 7.5 km long and is accessible for pedestrians and wheelchairs.
Starting points are accessible by car and bus.
It is one of the most beautiful and most visited places in the Bohemian Forest. The path descends from Antýgl to Cenek's sawmill (or vice versa) and leads through a beautiful canyon of the Vydra River, which is famous for its rocky bed. Along the way you can see the nipples, the giant pots and the stone sea.
On the way from Antygl we reach after 2 km to crossroad with yellow tourist mark, and bridge over Vydra. On the other side of the river, there are remnants of the only recently demolished Halka’s chalet - the only Czech tourist chalet in Vydra River Landscape before 1938.
But we continue and follow the red tourist mark. In the next kilometer, approximately halfway along the nature trail, we arrive at Turner’s chalet, where refreshments and accommodation are possible.
We continue further and along the canyon we can see the stone sea - a large scree formed by frost weathering of rocks and subsequent sliding of blocks into the valley.
