Peak Polednik
The peak with the lookout tower is also called the Noon Mountain and is located 7 km south of Prasily village. At 1,315 meters above sea level, it is a natural landmark of the entire border area.
The original building served as a base for air defense of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. After the fall of the iron curtain, the building was rebuilt to a 37-meter-high lookout tower.
In good weather, visitors are offered a magnificent view of virtually all of the Bohemian Forest and the Bavarian Forest. The “green roof of Europe” is right here.
And not only that, with good visibility you can admire the picturesque Sumava landscape and the Bohemian Basin within tens of kilometers and also the alpine peaks more than 180 km away. Covered seating and snacks are available right next to the tower.
