The Great Maple
The Great Maple/ “Grosser ARBER” (1456 m above sea level) is the highest and most visited mountain in the Bavarian Forest.
It is reachable by cable car or on foot and offers views of all directions. Walking through the forest to the top of the Great Maple is a real experience at any time of the year!
In winter, the Great Maple is a winter sports center. Skiers will find great opportunities here. There are wonderful slopes with a network of ski lifts and a gondola lift available for downhill skiing.
In summer you will find many marked hiking trails in a beautiful mixed forest.
You can reach the summit by cable car. The lower station is located approx. 1 km from Brennes village.
